Over Jan Tuijp 


Johannes Cornelis Hyacinthus Maria Tuijp (22 augustus 1948) is een Nederlandse basgitarist, werktuigbouwkundig ingenieur - ing - beroepsvlieger, vlieginstructeur, fotograaf en blogger. Jan Tuijp heeft een klassieke technische opleiding gevolgd. Na de LTS in Edam, de MTS en de HTS in Amsterdam studeerde hij aan de Technische Universiteit te Delft. Het meest bekend is hij van zijn carrière als basgitarist en tekstschrijver van de popgroep BZN, waarvan hij één van de oprichters was in 1965, en 42 jaar lang deel uitmaakte tot The Final Concert op 16 juni in 2007. Met BZN scoorde hij 56 top 40 hits; een nog steeds nooit door een binnen,- of buitenlandse artiest in Nederland geëvenaard record; en werden 14,5 miljoen geluidsdragers verkocht. Als bandlid scoorde hij 88 gouden en platina singles, LP's & CD's uit binnen en buitenland, en werden hem talloze andere onderscheidingen uitgereikt, waaronder een Edison, een Gouden Harp en een Koninklijke Ridderorde! 

In 1996 ontdekte hij samen met BZN collega's Jan Keizer en Jack Veerman de bekende zanger/presentator Jan Smit. Gezamenlijk schreven en produceerden zij 5 jaar lang tot 2002 alle grote hits voor Jan Smit in binnen en buitenland, waaronder de eerste 5 Nederlandstalige en 5 Duitstalige succes CD's In 2001 ontvingen zij hiervoor de Buma/Stemra Export prijs

Tuijp, een fervent fotograaf en blogger, is al bijna 30 jaar lang commercieel piloot, vlieginstructeur en luchtfotograaf. De luchtfoto's worden gemaakt vanuit Jan Tuijp's eigen vliegtuigje - een Fuji - met het callsign PH-BZN 

Hij won diverse fotowedstrijden, en scoorde een aantal eervolle vermeldingen van Nat.Geographic n.a.v foto inzendingen. In 2010 won hij de "National Geographic Photo Award" in de categorie landschappen met een halo-foto van de zon in het Zuidpool gebied.  Recentelijk werden een aantal van zijn foto's in de "National Geographic Calender" gepubliceerd.

Tuijp verzorgde de foto's voor het boek "Volendam Schildersdorp", met de foto's van de schilderijen in Hotel Spaander, het boek "Volendam in Vogelvlucht", het boek "Een Kerk in een Dorp". Ook werden veel van zijn foto's in verschillende grote magazines en kranten gepubliceerd...

Johannes Cornelis Hyacinthus Maria Tuijp (22 augustus 1948) is a Dutch bassguitar player, mechanical engineer - BSc - commercial pilot, flightinstructor, photographer and blogger. He has had a classical technical training. After the LTS in Edam, the MTS and the HTS in Amsterdam he studied at the Technical University in Delft. He is best known by his career as bass guitarist and songwriter of the pop group BZN, of which he was one of the founders in 1965, and for 42 years a member until "The Final Concert" on the 16 th of June 2007. With BZN, he scored 56 top 40 hits; no domestic nor foreign artist ever equalled this record in the Netherlands till now; 14.5 million sound recordings were sold, and as a band member he was distinguished with 88 gold and platinum singles, LPs & CDs; and countless other awards including an Edison, a Golden Harp, and even a Royal Honour. 

In 1996 - Jan Tuijp, together with BZN colleagues Jan Keizer and Jack Veerman,- discovered the singer/presenter Jan Smit. From 1996 till 2002 they wrote and produced all the major hits for Jan Smit in the Netherlands and abroad, including the first 5 German-language succes CD's. To do this they received the Buma/Stemra Export Award in 2001. 

Tuijp, an avid photographer and blogger, is for almost 30 years, commercial pilot, flight instructor and aerial photographer. The aerial pictures are made from Jan Tuijp's own plane - a Fuji - with callsign PH-BZN

He won several photo contests, and scored a number of honorable mentions from National Geographic as a result of photo entries. In 2010, he won the "National Geographic Photo Award" in the category Landscapes, with a halo-picture of the Sun in the Antarctic. Recently some of his photos were published in the "National Geographic Calendar".

Tuijp provided the photos for the book "Volendam painting village", with the photos of the paintings from Hotel Spaander, the book "Volendam in Bird flight", the book " A Church in a Village". Also many of his photos were published in several major magazines and newspapers ...
